It's hard to distinguish between the tomato and the cucumber.
If I grow larger vegetables again I'll definitely use a bigger container. The strawberry and cauliflower are both doing well too, surprisingly. I have no idea how they will all fit. Haha it will probably tumble over once the cucumbers start growing.
The outside tomato is doing great. The stems are thick and the plant seems to be quite a bit sturdier than i's hydro sister. The patio tomato sprouted tomatoes two days before the hydro. I was quite surpised
I pinched the tips of the tomato and the cucumber. They measured 56 inches. The tomato plant has lots of little tomatoes, no red ones yet. The cucumber has been flowering for weeks but no cucumbers. I read that indoor cucumbers may need help with pollination so I've been transferring pollen from the male to the female flower. You can tell the female from the male flower because it grows on the tip of what looks like a tiny cucumber. 95% of all the flowers have been male. I'm not sure if that's normal.
sweet sugar snap peas My container onions finally ripened. They didn't get super big but the tops fell over. I used them already. Yummy!
mmmm hot peppers, It's neat that my little plant can grow a pepper as long as the plant! I love it! The pepper turns red and fiery hot. I picked a small green one and chopped it up in the spaghetti sauce, it has a mild hot tasty flavor.
This is my small outdoor ground garden. I'm growing peppers, onion, garlic, cucumber, cauliflower, lettuce, squash, eggplant, watermelon, pumpkin, oregano, basil, cilantro, and thyme.
The tomato plant measures 27 inches! It's grown a foot in 10 days. I'm probably too overly excited and amazed by this, but it seems unreal how quickly they grow. It's still a foot taller than its outside sister. Cauliflower The roots are getting so long. I'm surprised they haven't wrapped around my fountain pump.
The cherry tomato plant measures fifteen inches! On June 21 it measured seven and a half inches. So it's double in height in ten days.
If you look really close you can see a small baby Roma tomato growing. I thought I was going to lose this plant for sure but it's really taken off this last week.
The first flower!! I planted these flowers at the same time from seed. It's funny how it took the same amount of time for the little flower to bloom as it did for the sunflower to grow so tall. I planted these flowers early April. The prolonged rainy cold weather really slowed all the growing.
Tiny but pretty! I don't remember what kind of flower it is. I should have kept all the seed packets. I know I planted sunflowers, poppys, and a butterfly mix. I hope more start bloom!
